Your data stays on your machine
Kinetex is a desktop app. The data you compare, convert, and load is read and processed on your own computer — it is not uploaded to us, and the values inside your files never leave your machine.

The short version
- Your data files stay local. The rows and values you work with are processed on your computer and are never sent to Kinetex.
- The app reaches the internet for a handful of specific things — app updates, licensing, usage statistics, optional AI, and crash reports — listed in full below.
- You can turn almost all of it off, and you can verify every bit of it yourself with a standard network tool. We’ll walk your IT team through exactly how.
What Kinetex sends — the complete list

What Kinetex never sends
The contents of your files. The actual rows and cell values you compare, convert, or load are processed locally and are never transmitted. (Usage statistics describe the shape of your data — names, counts, lengths — never the values.)
In Pro, with AI turned off, the only things Kinetex contacts the internet for are update checks and license validation — nothing derived from your data goes anywhere. (The free version additionally shares the anonymous usage statistics described above.)
When you connect your own systems
If you connect Kinetex to your own Workday tenant, Oracle, or Snowflake (a Pro feature), data flows directly between your computer and your systems, using your credentials. It does not pass through Kinetex. Those connections go where you tell them to — nowhere else.
Don’t take our word for it — verify it
Because Kinetex is a desktop app, you (or your IT/security team) can watch every connection it makes with a standard tool like mitmproxy or Fiddler, and confirm this page is accurate — including that your data values never leave the machine. We’re happy to provide a short, step-by-step guide and the full list of exact endpoints the app contacts. Just ask.
Transparency is the point: for a tool built to keep your Workday data local and private, you should be able to prove it, not just trust it.
